project overview

The project started with a clear business goal: generating more qualified leads for the Jobspreader. Together with project management, we developed a platform of free recruiting tools that provide real value for recruiters in their daily work.

The idea was simple: offer practical tools for free and turn recurring usage into qualified leads through a login system. After several uses, users can register to continue using the tools long-term.

In addition to UX/UI design, I gradually took over more organizational and communication-related responsibilities after the original project manager moved to another team. This led to much closer collaboration with development, stakeholders, sales and marketing.

strategy & Concept

The focus was not just on individual interfaces, but on building a scalable product concept. The platform was designed to grow over time and be extended with additional tools after the initial release.

To support this, we created a shared structure for new tools, consistent user flows and a central login system. At the same time, it was important that the platform integrated seamlessly into the existing Wollmilchsau design language.

Communication with other teams also played an important role early on. Customer-facing teams were actively involved so the tools could later be shared and used naturally in conversations, support cases and marketing channels.

LOGIN FLOW & USER EXPERIENCE

A central part of the project was the new login and freemium flow. Users could try the tools for free at first and were only asked to register after several uses.

The goal was to create an easy onboarding experience without unnecessary barriers. At the same time, the flow needed to be technically scalable and work consistently across different tools.

A key challenge was balancing user experience with business goals. The registration process was designed to generate leads without interrupting the overall experience too aggressively.

COLLABORATION & LEARNINGS

During the project, I also took over additional organizational responsibilities and coordinated large parts of the communication between development, stakeholders and other teams.

One important learning from the project was to involve departments earlier and align requirements more broadly from the beginning. For example, only after the technical implementation did it become clear that Sales needed to know which specific tool a lead originally came from. As a result, parts of the login system had to be extended afterwards.

The project showed me how important clear communication and early alignment between product, development, sales and management are when building scalable digital products.

DESIGN IN USE

After the first release, the platform was gradually expanded with additional tools. Within the first weeks, the platform already generated its first qualified leads.

Thanks to the modular structure, new tools could be added efficiently without having to redesign existing flows or the overall design system.
