Project Overview

I led the complete redesign of Gute-Jobs, from the initial idea to the atomic design system and final handoff to development.

Between 2019 and 2024, Gute-Jobs.de developed within Wollmilchsau GmbH into an established job platform with thousands of listings. After five successful years, it was time for a visual and strategic repositioning of the brand.

I redesigned the entire visual identity from the ground up, including logo, typography, web design, and a consistent, scalable design system. The goal was to create a clear and modern platform that builds trust, stands out in the market, and sustainably supports conversions.

User Research

As a foundation for the redesign, I conducted user interviews and developed two personas based on the findings. They helped keep the focus firmly on real job seekers rather than internal assumptions.

Key pain points were identified in the filtering logic and mobile usage. With a predominantly mobile audience, creating a clear mobile-first experience became a central design goal.

Concept & Ideation

As part of the process, I conducted a visual competitive analysis to understand established patterns in the market and make informed design decisions.

The moodboard was used to align with stakeholders and define a clear visual direction that feels trustworthy and modern.

Design & Prototyping

Many iterations, tests, and prototypes gradually led to the final solution, always with a focus on users, feedback, and a consistent overall experience.

Design in use

The final design was perceived as clear and appealing in subsequent user interviews. Through targeted A/B testing of individual elements, conversions were gradually improved.

It also became clear that a “better-looking” design alone is not enough. Every element was questioned, tested, and in some cases removed again. For example, a planned welcome box was discarded after tests showed that it reduced conversions rather than improving them.

Microanimations

Animations help users understand what is happening at a given moment. They can also reduce perceived loading times and guide attention. Below are two examples from this project. They were created in After Effects and implemented as either GIFs or Lottie files, depending on the technical requirements.

Atomic Design Library

I developed a component-based atomic design system in Figma that enables consistent and efficient work. All components are properly connected, include multiple states, and are built with auto layout so that changes automatically apply across all pages.

The system also supports a clean handoff to development and has been continuously expanded and maintained since launch. Shown here is an excerpt from currently 98 component categories.
